Sunday

I got to thinking..... I wonder if blogging on Sunday is the appropriate thing to do....?

For me, my blog is like my journal.  It is also letters to my family and friends.  To write letters, or write in our journal is what we should do on a Sunday.

So I have decided on Sunday's I will keep my blogging to certain subjects.  Spiritual subjects.  Testimony building experiences.  Or talks, poems, photos, etc. of things of that nature.  To share with my family and friends things that have touched my heart.  Something that has touched my heart, and made me feel the spirit of my Heavenly Father.

Since I live close to a temple now, and have spent some time near the temple, I am preparing my clothing and my thoughts to enter the temple.  On a Sunday, we visit the Ward buildings, and we chat and meet our friends and neighbors.  But when we attend the temple it is different.  We whisper.  We ponder.  We learn in a different way than we do on Sundays in the ward meeting houses.

This month in Liahona the Visiting Teaching Message is about Temples. Take a moment to read it.  Consider it part of our Sunday Worship. To remember the Lord in all things.  http://lds.org/ldsorg/v/index.jsp?locale=0&sourceId=8ae5f27573b1a210VgnVCM100000176f620a____&vgnextoid=f318118dd536c010VgnVCM1000004d82620aRCRD

My favorite statement from this message is “Let us be worthy to have a current temple recommend. Let us go to the temple to seal our families eternally. Let us return to the temple as often as our circumstances will permit. Let us give our kindred dead the opportunity to receive the ordinances of exaltation. Let us enjoy the spiritual strength and the revelation we receive as we attend the temple regularly. Let us be faithful and make and keep temple covenants to receive the full blessings of the Atonement.”

It is a short statement, but a powerful one.

May we be worthy to have a current temple recommend.  If we are worthy, then we are doing OK.  Today, I am going to strive to more "worthy".

Have a wonderful Sunday.  Remember it is a special day.  A day of rest.  A day to worship.

  1. Thank you for your sweet testimony, counsel, and love. I look forward to the next time we're in the temple together. Thank you for giving us the blessing of being sealed as a family for time and all eternity. How blessed we truly are. Miles cannot separate us when our bonds are eternal. :-)
